So earlier today I left my computer up for about 15 minutes while making lunch when I heard a high pitched whining noise form the kitchen. I ran to my computer and unplugged my headset which had been the source of the noise. I figured the problem was over but now my sound card is not being recognized. I tried locating it in my sound card in the Device Manager and multiple restarts but still nothing worked. I then uninstalled my audio driver and upon trying to re-install is I got the error "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system." Is there anything I missed or is my sound card broken? Also the ability to get a new sound card is a bit slim as I'm using a pre-built laptop.
