I'm sure you're all aware of the announcement that evga is releasing a 6gb gtx 780s. I recently purchased a 3gb SC ACX Gtx 780 from evga and it'll be within the 90 day step up time, so for me to get a 6gb card would be around $50 (plus whatever the shipping will cost).

I've read some differing opinions across the interwebs about how much of an impact vram has on game performance and even looked at a Tom's hardware article that basically concludes the impact is negligible. I'm still a bit confused as nothing really addresses my specific case, so I figured I'd ask you guys directly.

I game at 1920x1080. I also have recently started recording gameplay using shadowplay. My game of choice for the moment has been Titanfall and I've definitely noticed frame rate drops in the 50s and 40s during busy scenes, especially when recording, when by all means my rig should be chewing this game up (Currently running all settings maxed, 4xMsaa, Insane textures). I feel this is a TF problem, as I have almost no issues with bf4 but I'm wondering if upgrading to the 6gb version would be worthwhile, as I've heard that insane textures can push titanfall's vram towards 4gb. Would 6gb be beneficial for gaming and recording and are games likely to exceed 3gb vram in the next 2 years? My PC specs for those interested are in my signature. Any advice that you guys can give me would be much appreciated!

OK thanks for the responses guys! I'm reluctant to send in my card because it a) costs money and b) the one I have works perfectly fine, don't want to send it in and then end up with one that has coil whine or some crap. I'll be passing on that upgrade.
