Can anyone think of a way to mount my NZXT Hue and fan controller in the 750D without breaking the aesthetic of the case?

I just downloaded an image of a 750d with the Hue installed. It doesn't look that bad, really. Would you like for me to send you the pic, or do already know what it looks like and simply don't like the looks?

Thanks, but I already know what it looks like and I really don't like it :/

If there is a fault on Corsair Obsidian cases I think you just found it. Perhaps that's something that Corsair needs to hear about from end users such as us. About the only thing that I could recommend would be to place the case somewhere that it's not seen as easily. I know that is a weak answer, but if you want the Hue installed, that's about all that you can do. I'm not aware of a way to mount it internally. If you really wanted it installed but didn't want it in the 5.25 slot on the 750d, you could use cable extenders and run the cables out the back of the case to the Hue. If you keep your case somewhere that cables could run out the back and it not be messy looking, you can always simply have the Hue connected but not mounted in the case. It would be kind of neat if you could actually mount it to the underside of your computer desk. You would just need cable extenders long enough to do the job.

Do you think I can install the hue backwards into the Optical drive slot? I woudn't mind having to open up the case to adjust the color.

I'll never say that something can't be done. Trial and error are the only way to solve something like this. The method that I proposed or the one you have brought up are both very unorthodox, but there's nothing wrong with that. :)  The only problem that I could see with the method you proposed is how to get the data/power cables attached, as they are located in the rear of the Hue. If you can find a way to get the cables connected and install it in backwards, then give it a shot.

The method that I proposed would be pretty cool, but I have never tried it. Having your fan controller at your fingertips mounted under the desk near flush with the edge of the desk would look and function very well I would think. You may have to fabricate a mount yourself, but with a little time and effort I think it would be pretty neat.

All in all the only thing that matters is if you like it not. So if you can install it backwards and you like the looks and functionality of it, then go for it! You're the one who has to live with it and look at it every day, so your opinion is the only one that matters! :D

Funny, I bought this case last week and yesterday wanted to buy the HUE, only to change my mind precisely for the reason you're talking about, it would ruin the aesthetics for me. So, I ended up buying the LED strip from nzxt. Anyways, regarding your idea of installing the hue backwards, I think you could pull it off. As long as you have the tools for it and you're willing to maybe drill some holes in the case, I don't see why not. But, I have to say that Dustin's idea to mount it under you desk is worth considering too. Personally, I would mount it backwards in the 5.25.
Cheers!

Thanks for all the ideas. Have you guys heard of the Phobya LED-Flexlight RGB controller? It's basically like the Hue, just that instead of a 5.25 bay controller you get a wireless remote. Do you think I should get that instead?

PS: I just realized that I said "my" NZXT Hue at the top. I don't actually own it or any other led strips. My bad
