Ok, so I'm hoping this is just something I'm doing that's really dumb because RMAs are no fun.
I've got a new build with the following components:
MSI A55M E35 mobo
AMD A6 5400k processor
Corsair CX500 PSU
4 Gigs of G.Skill DDR3-1600 RAM
And a western digital HD of course, but we don't really even get that far in the boot process.
On boot I'm failing to get any BIOS screen info, no options to enter BIOS, no beep, nothing. If I hit delete on boot, when theoretically the option to enter setup should appear then I just get a blank screen. If I don't hit anything at all and just let it boot up on its own, then I get a message telling me to:
"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected drive and press any key".
The fans are spinning in the case, the monitor is obviously getting signal, I've checked the RAM to make sure its seated well... I've swapped RAM out with some that was in my main build (and known to be ok), what am I missing here? Or is it just dead?
EDIT: I should add that when I remove the RAM I do get the 3 long beeps recognizing the missing memory, and all the mobo standoffs are accounted for.
