Hey guys this is my PC build including the components listed in my signature. Basically I reseated my CPU at most 1 year ago (pretty sure more like 8 months) and I am hitting 70C. The only thing that has changed from the video is that I fliped the direction of the ceiling fan and temperatures are still about the same (I'm pretty sure it was pointing the wrong way, and juding from all the 'sticker/design directions on the fan, made it in line with the other fans in the case).

Just to clarify the video. The front case fan, since I built this 5 years ago, is DEFINITELY (was unsure in the video last night) an intake fan. It came installed with the case, hence the confusion about its direction.

I also blew a house fan into the side panel removed side and it helped temperature only two degrees C, so I think that air being sucked out of the case too quickly is not hte problem.

I am thinking of removing the top fan completely to see whether it would help the temperatures or not. I'm pretty sure my computer was lower without the top fan there when I discmounted it briefly last night, but I didn't keep it off. I couldn't leave it hanging so I just re-mounted it. I'm not sure how that would make sense since its this fan that pushes air out of the case, but I feel like physically removing the top fan actually helped the temperature a little.

ANy other tips? I rather not reseat this heatsink. It was a major PIA to clip it back on. Did the whole dot deal, clean lint cloth 100% alochol. Bios was upgrade this weak and I disabled unleash mode but kept my auto clock etc options on in my motherboard (basically nothing too crazy).

There is NO overclocking whatsoever from stock. In front just yesterday I realize 5 years after I built thid computer that the 'core unlocker' on Asus motherboards was not enabled. So I just enabled my other 3 cores lol (this is after I had the temperature problem). If anything I have lost a few degrees on the CPU temperature because of cleaning the case/filters. But still my CPU temperature is MUCH higher than the rest of the system.

http://pastebin.ca/2693277 for the AMD Overdrive Stability test (I think the 90C) are made up on the overdrive, they barely shift out of that rnage. The Asus ones seem to be more dynamic and accurate at 70C.

System and Video card temperatures around 30 or less than Centrigrate

May want to pull the CPU heatsink, clean the heatsink and top of cooler and reapply thermal compound, may not have enought, may even have too much

Try grabbing a Aftermarket CPU cooler, that will bring your temps down hugely, also did you make sure you applied the CPU grease? That can cause high temps, or if it isn't on correctly or not enough on the CPU.

This is an AfterMarket cooler, in fact this is my 2nd aftermarket cooler past the default one I bought it with. Never had a stock heatsink/fan for it. I used the standard Arctic Silver 5 PASTE (dunno why people are calling it grease nowadays). What paste would you guys recommend I get for this?

Did you lather the paste on or did you put a thin layer? It also sounds like your heatsink might not be seated firmly enough.

What do you mean it might not be seated firmly? What made you say that? I had a rough time putting on the heatsink. After 10 years of building computers, they still havent since I made this computer 4 years ago figured out an easy heatsink clip on method. I applied and cleaned it like I said, alcohol 100%, lint free cloth, dot in the middle of the cpu. I then clipped on one side of the heatsink. I don't remember how I got it on (tightening one side would randomly make the other side tight as well, sometimes not), but I got the heatsink FIRMLY and tightly, both ends, seated on the heatsink.

If anything, what thermal grease/paste/compound should I order since I want to reseat this, and what are some tips you would give for reseating in one shot vs possibly shifting the compound while lifting the heatsink back and forth tryign to clip it in place and creating bubbles?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98x2D-8ynVw Yeah I think the installation the second time around of the heatsink might not be right. Any tips on how I will remount this? I watched and followed the instructions to a T, the brackets, the mount, are all screwed and right in place, but am I NOT suppose to be able to rotate the heatsink once it's sat down?
