So I have a rather old laptop (eMachines eM350) and since a bit of time, the computer no longer detects the right screen resolution. It is not the OS because it also affects the POST (well I think it's not the OS).

Anyone out there having the same/similar issue?

PS: Setting a custom resolution doesn't work. It just makes the image on the screen bigger, but part of the image is still missing

Thanks

Okay you need to go into you graphics chip's suite so amd catalyst, the nvidia one or the intel one and go through all the options. There will be a slider for manual res settings. I had this problem with my desktop and had to go and manually change it. Hope this helps :)
