can i run a windows 95 cdrom game thru dosbox off my windows 7

My laptop runs off windows 7. I have an installation cd for windows 95 but it will not boot on virtual box. Is it possible for me to be able to load the cdrom thru windows 95 on dosbox? I tried running the game in compatability mode, and it doesnt work.

As I remember you must have dos to run Windows 95. I believe the last version was 6.2. Without it you can't run 95. It's like a house with no foundation.

According to this wiki page Windows 95 does not work in DOSBox.

Interestingly Windows 1.0-3.11 does though. I may have to go dig up my 3.x disks now...

Because pre-95 Windows OS's were just fancy wrappers around DOS.

No, DOSBox will not run Window95 games, but most games from that era also have a DOS version, which should be runable through DosBox.

What is the game?

If you really want to play it check GOG.com to see if it is available. I have purchased many games from them that I have the original CDs for just for their Windows 7 compatibility.
