External Hard Drive only get 2tb out of 3

I was formatting my laptop, so i made a backup of it on my external hdd. And now im only able to use 2tb out of the 3? it says that the other 1tb is unallocated but i cant extend the volume.

When you formatted the drive did you use MBR or GPT? There is a drive size limitation with MBR (2TB).

I would like to say that i found out how to do it with EASEUS Partition Master. it let me make the unused space into a new space then i was able to combine them.
