I would like to know which CPU and GPU would match my gaming laptop in performance.
CPU: I7-720QM
GPU: ATI Radeon HD5870

Also how would a i7-4770K with integrated HD4600 graphics compare?
The only games I paly currently is DOTA2, Civ V, Railroad Tycoon...

Dude, an i7-4770k would EAT that laptop. LOL There's nothing wrong with your laptop, but desktops have the ability to be MUCH more powerful. Any mid and high end desktop will outperform 99% of all laptops. This is because laptops have such limited space and cooling is always a huge issue. In a desktop, there's room to get rid of all the heat generated, but a laptop can't breath like that.

Any idea of how much you want to spend on the desktop?

I was more concerned about the HD4600 graphics versus my Radeom mobile

The Radeon Mobile is going to be significantly better. It has 2GB of dedicated memory and performs better in every way that I can see.

Any modern mid-range card will beat that mobile 5870. Like dustin said though, that 4600 is integrated and doesn't really compare.
