Hi all, first post. So i have a ADATA XPG SX900 256GB and im currently using it whit default AHCI drivers. Should i install the Intel AHCI/RAID Driver?? Would i get any benefit at all? Please check this screen, these are my read/write speeds :

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/mrkd/speeds.jpg

I think something is wrong because advertising says 500+/500 speeds.. o.o

What could be wrong??

pd: i installed my ssd days ago (about 2 weeks) and it was all fine, so i decided to reinstall windows 8 and this was the procedure: first loading my dvd windows8 pro 64 bits, reboot pc, boot from cd/dvd, choosing languaje, selecting drive, formating (i thing in this step something went wrong***) and reinstalled all windows 8 (didnt make back up, i didnt think it was necesary btw, i have almost all my stuff in dropbox)

***: when i finished my reinstall, my ssd was showing just 213 gb of space.. this was weird because first time i installed (reinstallation was later) i remember it showed more space (like 230+gb)

Something went wrong? What could it be??

Yes, i have AHCI on in BIOS and yep, it is on SATA 6 motherboard installed.

This are my pc specs:

- motherboard: asus p8z77 v-lx
- windows 8.1 pro 64bits (right now)
- adata xpg sx900 256gb
- 8gb ram 1866ghz
- r9 270 gigabyte

The advertised 555/535 Read/Write speeds are with ATTO.
http://www.adata-group.com/index.php?action=product_specification&cid=3&piid=169&lan=us

Advertised Read/Write speeds with AS-SSD are up to 500MB/s Read and 320MB/s Write.
Your AS-SSD results indicate that you are getting 94.7% of advertised Reads and 72.8% of advertised Writes.

Your AS-SSD results also show storahci - OK, which indicates that you are using Microsoft's default AHCI drivers.

Install Intel's latest AHCI drivers and your benchmark results may improve some. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22271

Sorry guys didnt have internet until now. Im a total noob in these things, should i install the f6flpy-x64.zip or the first file that dereck put in the intel link? The f6flpy-x64 says its raid driver.. Its that ok? Sorry for all the noob-sense :/

The link that I provided in post # 2 of this thread is for Intel AHCI drivers.
The link that you provided in post # 5 of this thread is for Intel RAID drivers.

AHCI is a subset of RAID so if you install the RAID drivers AHCI will be included.

Since you're not creating a RAID array you might as well just install the AHCI driver I provided in my previous post.

Since you're a noob with regards to downloading and installing device drivers it's probably best if you just leave your system the way it is right now. You won't notice any real-world difference if you update your AHCI drivers. You will only see slightly better benchmark results.

Also FYI, your ATTO benchmark results in post #3 of this thread show that you are getting 100% of advertised Reads and 99.6% of advertised Writes.

Your SSD is in great condition. :)
