i bought a new psu and gpu, when i install the gpu there is no display.

i bought thermaltake smartm 850w and xfx radeon r7 260x. everything works fine with my old graphics card. but once i put the new on in, it starts up but doesnt beep. just black screen.

mobo: MSI USA H61M-P23 (B3)
cpu intel i5 2400 3.10Ghz
gpu: xfx radeon r7 260x / using atm radeon hd 6670
os: windows 8.1 pro 64 bit

It isn't just bus-powered like some cards, have you connected the 6-pin power lead to it?

yeah, i connected 6pin. if it isnt plugged in, it goes to my intergrated graphics.

Might be a dumb question, but did you plug your input cable into the r7? Have you made sure your monitor is on the correct source input? As well did you remove all prior drivers/software for your previous card? That often causes issues.

i removed all the drivers and i have the hdmi plugged into it. it doesn't seem to start up. but when i unplug the 6 pin it starts up.

Do you have the card properly seated in a PCIe 3.0 or 2.0 slot?

pcie Gen2 (1x16) yeah it fitted in pretty easily.
