Hi, I am having a small problem here :$.

I can buy 2x 670 for a total of €300, the brand is gigabyte and they are used.
Or I can buy a new gigabyte 770 for about €280.
What would be the smartest decision? I am aware of the fact that the 670 has a MUCH better price/performance ratio in this case, but will it run into for example any problems in SLI (except for the AAA titles ofc.)?

Not having to worry about the reliability of the cards, what would be the best decision?
My friend highly recommended the 670 SLI as it would equal about a 780ti =).

PS: I am planning on OC'ing the cards =).

Thank you for the quick response coolcole01, I am not planning on adding another 670 later ;P. I'm planning on upgrading again when the 670 starts struggling in the newest BF to come out. Atm it can run on BF4 on ultra probably, maybe the next BF on high, after that I might upgrade ;).
Would it in that case be smart to take the 770?

If i can give you any advice its take the best single gpu you can at the time and add later the 670 is good right now but in the near future it wont be and the rule for multi gpu is to get one that can deliver the goods now (and thats the 770)and then add the second to knock it out of the park. also the 670 i thought could only do bf4 at about 40fps maxxed out

A single 670 will (stock speeds) run bf4 ultra sets at about 40-50 fps indeed, but 2 will be more than plenty for 80+ fps :p
Unfortunately I won't be able to add another card later as I don't want to make my computer a project for the next 3 years, I'd like to finish it within the year/1.5 year.

In this case it really is OR 670 SLI OR single 770 - although I would have gone with 770 SLI if I had more money to spend ;).

The meaning of "smart" in the case of SLI vs Single GPU is a subjective term. For pure performance, the SLI setup will smash the 770. It could be "smart" if you don't have a case with adequate cooling, PSU, etc, but for me, it's a no brainer, and "smarter" and less costly to go SLI, every single time. It's what I have been doing since my 8800 GT's. Those got upgraded to dual GTX 460's and now dual GTX 670's.

Kinda getting sick of reading all the SLI haters go on about how you shouldn't SLI, it's problematic, games don't like it,blah, blah blah, but then in the same reply they go on to say, "but you can always add a 2nd 770 down the track". Oh, so now it's ok to advocate SLI? Any game worth playing these days, supports SLI, so no issues there.

Do yourself a favour, buy the 2nd 670 now, then when they start to struggle, get 2 x GTX 870's in about 2 years time :). You'll be spending less every upgrade, and out performing single cards worth much more.
