I want to upgrade from my current processor intel(r) pentium(r) d cpu 2.80ghz. I have two of these on my system and I would like to upgrade to something better as I work with graphics.
I am upgrading from XP to Windows 7 so I thought about upgrading the processor and PCI video card. Was looking at pricing to see if it was better to replace parts or buy new computer.
I believe it has to be a Intel Pentium D with LGA775 Socket.
Then you are really out of luck as the 775 is an obsolete socket now. Depending on your mobo you might be able to get a Core 2 duo or quad. For any modern processor though you need a new mobo.
