is my athlon ii x2 240 bottlenecking my Radeon r7 250? any recommendations on a cpu upgrade below 100$ would be appreciated :D

I don't think there is any bottleneck. Those two (GPU+CPU) seem like a good match.

If you want to upgrade, an Athlon II x4 645 would be the most direct increase in power for about $70. However, it may not be possible to find one new anymore.

Would i find an increase of Performance in Fps for games like Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and Battlefield : Bad Company 2 if i upgrade my Cpu? I've read somewhere that a Vishera Fx-6300 is a good price/performance CPU and it's affordable, i just need to find a store that sells it in my country though.

It's difficult to tell whether your CPU or GPU is holding you back more.

his current cpu is AM3. The FX series processors are AM3+. AM3+ boards are backwards compatible with AM3 cpus but not all AM3 boards will be forward compatible with AM3+ processors. check with your motherboard manufacturer before deciding. might be possible to flash it if the manufacturer offers the option.

The best CPU that board can handle is an FX 6300. If you can find one at another store, get that. You might have to do a bios update first.
