Well, on www.pccasegear.com on the AMD AM3+ CPU's Section, ( http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=187_1512&vk_sort=1 ) it says on each CPU, "Comes with retail Box" while on the FM2/FM2+ Section it says "Comes with heatsink, thermal paste, yada yada yada etc." on each one. I know this is not a normal post but i have no idea and if anyone has used this site before can you tell me what the "Comes with Retail Box" means, and if it means it comes with the heatsink and thermal paste and stuff.

This is my first PC build, and i dont want to stuff it up, so this is why i'm here. Any help would be appreciated.

Most retail boxes for CPU's do have some form of thermal compound included - often it is pre-applied to the bottom of the HSF and users do not have to do anything to get it.

That said - you are right, most experienced builders have a preference and their own thermal compounds... so with a stock HFS we use rubbing alcohol to wipe the included gunk off and use our own better stuff. Bu if running a cpu at stock speeds - the included stuff is good enough.
