dual SAMSUNG EVO 840 SSD's (120 GB each) in RAID 0

BIOS setting is set to RAID, on startup it reads both SSD's as part of the RAID volume on the Intel RST page

problem: I only have 111 GB total storage.....

should it not be closer to 240?

does anyone have any ideas?

Solution
it really sounds like you either have it at raid 1 and didnt catch that or only set a partition to use 50% of the space. Run diskmgmt.msc to see if theres unallocated space.

but yeah, the two advantages you get from raid0 is larger capacity and much higher sequential I/o which is not important to most users.

im sure

it lists the 2 drives as member volumes of a RAID0 array (stripe)

im giving this info from memory as im at work and not on my PC.. but that was the first thing i checked

Yea I said that in my original post..

Customer support at Samsung says that there is no measurable advantage to setting SSD's in RAID0... Can anyone confirm?

Ok well that's good to know...
I get no benefit from having the RAID0 currently because it's not giving me extra storage...

GG I guess a format is coming
