So hi guys,

My current rig is as in my profile. Just for less hassle theres Phenom 2 x6 1090T + HD 6790 + antec 650 bronze.

So right now i am unsure towards what to move. I don't play on max setting, my current display is LCD TV 32" which i run at 720p. Most of my games i also run at 720p or 1080p depends.

R7 260x, HD 7790, Gtx 750Ti, R7 265, or Gtx 660. Which would be best to go with my CPU considering bottleneck, CPU performance per thread, graphics VRAM 1gb or 2gb considering my display.

Since i just need the games to look good enough and run smooth at around 40 fps in games like crysis 3 with or without AA. Let's say i just need the games to be playable without sacrificing too much eyecandy.

Sorry for intruding. I also want to know your preference between GTX 660 and R9 270X. The different price is fairly low, about $1 lower for R9 270X. Here is comparison between GTX 660 (left) and R9 270X (right)

Memory Clock : 6.0 Gbps vs Up to 5600 MHz
Standard Memory Config : 2048 MB vs 2048 MB
Memory Interface: 192-bit vs 256 bit

Seems like Radeon wins in Memory Interface, but lacks in Memory Clock. Which is more favorable?

Sapphire AMD 260X R7 2 GB $152
MSI GTX750 Ti 2 GB $174
AMD Sapphire HD7790 2 GB $179
Sapphire AMD R7 265 2 GB or asus $191
GIGABYTE GV-N660WF2-2GD r2 $203
Sapphire AMD R9 270 2 GB $ 217
Sapphire AMD 270X R9 2 GB $233

These are the prices i am getting. However in some of the cases there are 1 gb versions for lower. Would that affect my gaming?

If i follow an example of this. There's absolutely no point in using practically 40 buck more to get 5-6 fps increase on ultra. but still maybe that will be different cuz of my CPU.

If from their I7 they get 22-28 ultra, on my phenom 2 x6 maybe 20-25. but then again i don't play ultra. So i should be getting ~35 fps easily with an R7 260x at medium? What are your opinions about that.

Higher rez yes i do get how vram helps. But as i mentioned i use single display native 720p, almost everything is ran at 720p. occasionally 1080p. So how does 2gb vram help here?

Nah i won't be having multiple games running at the same time. I am running crysis 3 med on my HD 6790 with minor lags due to the old architecture and lower specs than any of these cards. But apparently in new games the games themselves eat at the Vram regardless of the resolution though i cannot ascertain that.

So in conclusion no 1gb vram. Thanks i actually went and did some research while reading here

The answer to that would be, for the price and performance and actual benchmark results. The R9 should beat the GTX in most games by ~15%.
