Should I get the GTX 550 TI?

Hey all,
I was wondering what you thought about the GTX 550 TI?
I was looking at the junk GT 640 and R7 250.
I can get the GTX 550 TI for the same price used.
If it works I do not care if it is used.
I will be getting a good PSU soon. Power is not a problem.
I do not have a lot of money so I need to stay under $100 USD.
Anything is better then my 8600GT.

I also want to go with Nvidia because my MOB does not support Crossfire. Only SLI.
In the future I would like to get 2x 550 TIs and run them in SLI.
Tell me your thoughts.

What will you be using them for?
I think its a good GPU, but for gaming, look at the 770. Way better performance for gaming.

I also like the dual DVI-I that the GTX 550 TI has.
I have 2x VGA screens and would like to use both.

id say that its a good choice. I always will suggest that if you want to SLI its better to just buy 1 really good GPU instead of SLIing 2-3 mediocre GPUs. Only SLI if you have more than 1 screen or your GPUs are top knotch.

I agree with 3Dns, get the 650..it has a lower TDP and way more mem clock speed

Use a VGA output and take an adapter for DVI to VGA for the DVI output. Is not difficult

I agree with 3Dns, get the 650..it has a lower TDP and way more mem clock speed

EDIT: You can get a DVI to VGA adapter

you could get a splitter... those are cheap and get the job done

Well, spliter will only mirror the display. No dual screens.

I only want to SLI for fun. That is about the only reason most people OC ETC.
Also, the GTX 650 does not have SLI support. If I can get a GTX 650 with dual analog I will go for it.

Good plan. I suggest the 550 TI for your purposes. If you do want to sli though, invest in 2 good gpus. You will be glad you did.
