Howdy all!

Thanks in advance for your input. I'm about to pull the trigger on an 8350 for my gaming/ HT rig, and found a 9370 for $40 more. I've ready MANY threads on this debate, almost all suggest the 8350 because of the increased expense of the 9370, increased power demand, and cooling.

But in this case the price is almost the same, I have the power and the cooling.

So What do you think? "Should" I get and OC the 8350? Or just run with the 9370?

Will an 8350 OC'd to 4.4GHZ consume about the same power / generate the same heat as a 9370?

Thanks!

XFX 1000w Platinum PSU
ASUS Crosshair Formula-Z
CM Nepton 280L
etc...

The 9370. You would get as much heat anyways when you overclock the 8350. With a 280L and a already very good Psu then i don't see why you shouldn't pick the fastest processor. You would probably even be able to overclock it with that setup. So defently the 9370 at the same price!

I hope this helps you decide! :)

Thanks NiCoM! Your input helps me feel better about the 9370. Seems like the right choice.

if they are sthe same price the 9370 is the superiour chip when they make these chips they get graded and lets just make up some numbers if a 99% chip was the 9590 (meaning that its going to 5ghz and staying there no problem the 9370 would be like a 90% chip its gonna hit its speeds stable no matter what then that would leave the 8350 at 80% meaning you will expect it to do its job but its a lower quality bin. This does matter foe overclock so get the 9370 if its the same price. But they are all the same chip just different quality levels.
