New GTX 780 DCU II, but no video signal...

So first of all, i'm new to this site so forgive me when i do mistakes. :)

So i had a PC which worked fine with a gigabyte radeon HD 6850 and an amd FX-4170. Those are located on a gigabyte motherboard (GA-970A-UD3). My psu is a smart m650w by thermaltake (it's a 650W psu).

I just recently tried to replace the gpu with an asus gtx 780 dcu ii, but as I hooked it up to my tv with an hdmi cable i didn't get a video signal even though the fans on the gpu were spinning. So i tried it again with the old gpu and this time not even it's fans wre spinning... Yes, i made sure i plugged in all the connectors(one 6-pin for the hd 6850 and 6-pin+8-pin for the gtx 780)and the gpus sat firmly in their slots. I also tried it with another gpu from an cheaper/older pc which doesn't need an extra power supply connector and still no video. I also tried to connect the gpu with a dvi cable with no success. So at this point i can't access the bios of the pc because my motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics and the gpus won't give me a video signal.

I thought that there still might be conflicting drivers on the pc, so i disconnected the hard drives an tried booting it up. As far as i know this the pc should boot up and open the bios, correct? But i still got no video signal.

There's also another weird problem. Since this happened i cannot switch off the pc by holding the power button, but switching it on works just fine. Also the reset button doesn't work. I'm pretty sure that i wired the front panel correctly but i might double check that, even though i don't know how that could be related to the gpu.

I also want to mention that i rewired some stuff to make it more orderly while exchanging the gpu, but this was mainly front panel stuff. Did i maybe damage something in the whole gpu exchange process?
Please Help, i have no clue what it could be... :(

Solution
Alright i found the problem and it's pretty embarrassing. I'm writing this so other people will make sure to check their connectors before posting an unsolvable question... So it turns out I totally forgot there was an 8 pin connector on the motherboard...
So check your connectors :)

1: Make sure you wired all the tiny cables for ON/OFF, RESET, HDD LED and so on in the correct order. I don't think it's the problem but it might be, you never know!
2: Do you have another pci-e slot like the one you have your gpu plugged into? Try using any possible 2nd pci-e slot with your gpu and see if that works.
3: Did you remember to uninstall the old gpu driver before installing the newer gpu (you need AMD Catalyst for your cpu but you can uninstall the screen drivers seperately in the uninstall process)

I hope you get your new card up and running soon. :)

Yes, i do have another pci-e slot and i tried i as well with all cards -> the same outcome :/

As to #3: i did actually forget to uninstall the drivers, and that's why i tried to boot it up again with my old card but you already know what happens next ^^. I then also tried booting it up without the hard disks, because i thought they would be saved on there and again the same result :(

I will double check the front panel wiring but as you said, i don't know how those could be connected to the problem.
Still thanks for the reply :)
