Hey guys. I'm planning to go for this build mainly for gaming. I saw the Watch Dogs, Shadow of Mordor system specs and it requires a i7-3770 or FX-8350. I'm trying to stay away from the AMD FX CPU as what many people have suggested me even though its $140 dollars cheaper than the i7-4770k (prices in my country). I'm going for the Asus Gryphon Z87 and GTX 770 combo.

But If I can save much more and go for the i5-4670k. Do you think it will be safe enough for the games I mentioned? This is a completely new build I'm going to do so if it is going to be actually worth it to go for i7-4770k route. I would do it but does it justify the price point or just go for i5-4670k and maybe push my budget for a GTX 780? Help me guys. I'm torn between this selection. One more thing is my Corsair CX600V3 enough or Do I need a new PSU as well? :/

Solution
yes an i5 4670k will overclock better than the fx 8350. and slightly better performance. if you want to go cheap the amd fx 8350 is really good for the extra 4 cores and threads. and quite similar in performance between the two. of course an fx 8350 and 4670k with gtx 770 can max those games at 60+fps maxed out if you really want to go cheaper than the fx 8350 is the best choice.

What about the Watch Dogs and Shadow of Mordor recommended specs? Is the i5-4670k enough? I'm gonna do just mild overclock since I'm fairly new to overclocking. I'm gonna do mainly for gaming and these two games are the main reason I'm upgrading right now. I love to play these games without holding back the graphics and performance.

I'm not really expert on these and I rely on benchmark videos most of the times which is completely biased at some point I don't know what to believed but I always believed in Intel but AMD is catching up its the first game I saw an i7-3770 paired to an FX-8350 which is $140 buck cheaper than the i7 counterpart. Please if you can help me decide the best possible CPU+MOBO+GPU combo at this site http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf as it is where I'm going to buy. I can't buy online since I'm don't really know how to do it. So I prefer to buy it on a store.

By the way my monitor is 1080p so I won't be buying a 1440p monitor or 4k monitor in the near future not until these things go cheap by that time I may need a new upgrade. Right now all I want is the best possible performance for 1080p without holding back the game at 60 +fps, max settings. Please help me decide I'm really confused. I really need expert advice. This is an Australian store so don't mind the prices cause it is extremely overpriced here even games. :/

Okay mate. I think I will have to go i5-4670k since it is completely the same price with FX-8350 and spend the extra $100 bucks for a GTX 780. That should be set for awhile at 1080p. I also doubt that Watch Dogs and Shadow of Mordor couldn't run it since i5 is mostly on gaming systems and i7 for extra rendering, or editing same 4 cores but double the threads on i7 doubt that would help gaming performance i guess. It all makes sense now. Thanks! I must stop watching benchmark videos until I actually tested the system but I'm fixed with Intel/Nvidia combo.
