After I got to install the latest drivers and utilities for my motherboard I was tweaking some things when I had the wicked idea of pressing the "Activate LED" button in the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology software which was installed for my ACHI drivers. In its help file it states that this function is enabled only if the underlying hardware supports it. My motherboard however, does not have a LED for every SATA port. It has a led for diagnostic purposes which is light for a small amount of time in boot and then light off to show that disk check passed OK.

However, after pressing "Activate LED" the LED has stayed light ever since. Neither rebooting, shutting down and booting, booting a different OS or cutting of electricity for some time (more than 30s just in case capacitors could hold some weird information about it) has helped. I do not know what to do as it is really hard to google anything and there seems to not be enough material out there.

Any help will be appreciated. Anyone else experienced this problem before in any other ASUS motherboard?

This will be my last resort because I do have installed the latest version which make me doubt it will accept any bios update (downgrade or same version above the old one) and also because of the amount of settings I have to re-set. However, if I am to do this I will firstly try a "load defaults" and then go on with bios update probably, though I find it very strange for a non specific application to be able and also programmed to change anything in the firmware. BIOS setting is already far too long for such an app.
