My PC has been going slow as hell recently and i have no idea why.I regularly fragment it, Virus scan it with Microsoft defender and I clean out cache files also, from my web browser . The main reason I don't understand why it goes slow is because of my great specs:
Intel core I5 4670k @ 3.4
Amd Radeon 7950 3Gb
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500gb
Windows 8.1
If it matters, I custom built this PC myself and up to about 3-4 weeks ago it started to go slow will it help if I uninstall some games because I have an assload of programs installed but I need thats stuff but I can remove 10 of the 58 Games I have installed

Solution

We need to quantify 'slow'. How slow, just horribly sluggish, obviously something wrong? Just a bit less snappy then...

We need to quantify 'slow'. How slow, just horribly sluggish, obviously something wrong? Just a bit less snappy then when it was new? And during what activities do you notice this? Booting, surfing, gaming, general windows operation? All of the above? We need details here.

One word of advice - if you suspect malware you CANNOT count on windows defender to find or remove a virus that has already gotten past it, you will need to scan with a dedicated virus checker/remover like malwarebytes, which is a free download.

no i use task manager and close off any bs programs im not using

I'm talking about the number of Processes, NOT applications! Most processes are BACKGROUND tasks. If you click the Processes tab you can see how many and which processes are using the CPU.
