So, I'm new to the whole PC building thing. All that I've done before is upgrade ram and a GPU, though I am very tech savvy. I record/stream gameplay videos, I do some 3D modeling, and I also edit videos, so I need a pretty powerful PC.

I have decided to water cool, because then I can(probably) get a pretty nice OC and it looks like a cool thing to do, not to mention it looks absolutely awesome.

I've decided on a green color scheme, on the LGA1150 socket. a 4770K seems to be the best choice. Because of the green color scheme, there was only one motherboard to go with, the Sniper M5. The RAM is pretty simple, just get some that doesn't stand out and has decent specs. I went with a simple 1TB caviar blue, I've never used an SSD and therefore I don't really need one. I might upgrade to an SSD in the future, only time will tell. I want to go Crossfire/SLI, only partially due to bragging rights. AMD GFX cards seem to be a good choice, when you can find a non-inflated one. They have a lot of cool looking "technologies" and I was wondering how much of that is just marketing? And how would 2 290s hold up to three 760s? I will be making a custom case, built around this PC. I went with an EVGA 750w gold rated PSU, if I should have a higher wattage, please tell me. I favor the looks of XSPC's water blocks, the LED lighting looks really nice. I've heard good things about Black Ice rads, so I decided to use one of those. I will most likely use distilled water with a killcoil in it, maybe alongside some biocide. The one thing I'm not sure about is the SLI/Crossfire connector, which one should I use?

I'd suggest an 850 watt psu with those cards, but otherwise all is good. also with the 290 there is no need for crossfire connectors, as it will be done over the pci slot

a lot of the amd side is marketing, as mantle has basically been a letdown. If you can find them at original price they are a steal. if they match the price of a 780 however, then you are better off with the 780 as it is a faster, cooler, and quieter card (if you were to go with air)

also i would highly suggest maybe just say dropping one gpu, getting say a 780ti (or just getting one 290 or 780 to see how well they perform on their own), and then getting a decent sized SSD, you may never have used one, but they are the best thing since sliced bread.

I would usually go with a 780, but the 780 waterblock is sold out, and this card is cheaper. I had meant the crossfire connector for the waterblocks, not the cards themselves. I would go with a single 780 TI, but as I said the waterblocks are sold out D: I might just get an SSHD, or a small 32gb SSD for just the OS and maybe 2 of most frequently used games.

I would love to see you put a 4770k and dual 290s in a $1000 rig.

He means you are going to hit big diminishing returns on performance. you could get away with un-noticed performance differences to the naked eye with a cheaper system.

that being said, you should look harder for 780 waterblocks as they are made in surplus
