Hey guys, planning on doing a new water cooling build but Im worried about my Northbridge overheating. I havent dealt with the z87 chipset before but ive read that some difficulties occur when watercooling because their is less airflow around the northbridge causing it to overheat. I know back in the day people use to use their intel stock coolers for this and am wondering if this is even possible with the new chipsets, or if i should just buy a northbridge cooler, if it is even necessary.

Solution
You should be fine as long as the case itself has good airflow... just make sure all the air flows in 1 direction up / front or up / rear. I prefer up /front flow, this brings cold air into the case in the back, across the MoBo and out across the HDD's as well as the 240mm venting the top.
