I know there are a million of these on here, so I would like to start with an apology for trying to cut corners on my research by asking you guys! =] Oh, and sorry for the length.

I want a build that can play WoW, CoD, BF4, CSS, and the likes (On Max Res). Probably a lot of Steam games. In the future I plan on using editing software; Final Cut, Motion, and Photoshop.

I can spend somewhere between $800-$1200. Less is obviously better. I want something that wont cost me a bunch to expand later.

Iv'e been going back and forth between building my own, and using something like Cyberpowerpc.com. If I build my own, I can purchase with Amazon Prime.

Anyway..The Build.

Case: I like CYBERPOWERPC X-Titan 200. I'm mostly interested in a case with good airflow, and USB 3.0. I chose a Full Tower for possible expansion in the future. (However I don't know if this is logical)

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor. I chose this, because it appears to be the best bang for my buck. Several cores which will be good for editing, and is still decent for when I'm not using the hyper-threading(I'm still learning about multi-threading and virtual cores, so I could be wrong here). If you suggest an Intel chip, please explain why. I just don't see it.

CPU Cooler: None. Are these necessary? How do I know if I need one, and do I choose a fan, or a coolant?

Motherboard: N/A. I'm not sure what motherboard. I want it to be able to handle 32gb of ram. And possibly SLI/Crossfire. But I don't know what else I need to know about a motherboard.

Memory: G.Skills Ripjaws 16gb(2x8gb). Unless I only need 4gb. Is there a better name I should get? Not sure on speed either, DDR3 1600?

Storage: 1TB HDD (Not sure which brand, or what speed. 7200RPM?) And a SSD(Not sure what size. I'll put my OS, and probably a couple of other important things on this.)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card. Not sure on this video card, it looks good on paper I suppose. I was thinking of a 4gb card, but if I do Crossfire, then I can just get another 2gb card later...right?

PSU: No clue on this either. All I know is that it should be 80+.

I don't need a monitor. I may buy a keyboard and mouse. This has been a very tiresome process, and I am at the point where I just want it at this point. lol. Thank you for the help!

Solution
Ok, i'm no expert on this topic, but i built my PC so maybe i can be of assistance, about the games you mentioned, you clearly want to focus on running BF4, if you run that, the others are piece of cake to run (super old engines), your budget also is extremely good (i used like 550 USD on mine and i'm super fine :D) ok your rig...
About the case, sorry, i don't know much about cases, be sure it can handle the space and has good cooling

The CPU, beast AMD cpu, 8cores clocked at super high speed and not very expensive for how high end it is, most people say intel is better, maybe they are right, multithread gaming hasn't been implemented to 100%...but it is a soon-to-be, and to be honest i am using an fx 6300 and i am super happy with it...

I see that you chose the i5. Why is that? Over the AMD 8350? Also, if I want to cut the costs somewhere..what would you suggest I cut?

About the case, sorry, i don't know much about cases, be sure it can handle the space and has good cooling

The CPU, beast AMD cpu, 8cores clocked at super high speed and not very expensive for how high end it is, most people say intel is better, maybe they are right, multithread gaming hasn't been implemented to 100%...but it is a soon-to-be, and to be honest i am using an fx 6300 and i am super happy with it (hexacore, 3,5 GHz) the 8xxx series are even better

I use standart CPU cooler...th one that comes in the box, works fine, now if you want another air cooling system it is up to you, and about water-cooling...that would cost you a lot and it is not easy to install, i wouldn't go for that

MOBO, if you are not sure, search for one that fullfills your needs, the power your CPU needs is like 130w if i am not wrong you also need de AM3+ CPU socket (beware CPU sockets have power limit in some mobos), also you need a MOBO that has at least 2 PCI-e ports if you want to crossfire or SLI, and the RAM, you need to search one that can handle 1600 MHz of freq, to be honest with you i live somewhere i don't get access to all hardware, i don't want to risk it and recommend you an outdated MOBO, but all the things i mentioned should be included in the motherboard's specs c:

RAM, 16 Gb is just beast...you won't need an upgrade nowhere in the near future, 8Gb is super nice at the moment and 4 Gb is barely enough, DDR3 is the best you can achieve and 1600 MHz is a super solid gaming freq for RAM, nothing to argue there, G Skill is a good choice too.

Storage is preferential...

Now the good part, GPU, the one you picked is a nice high-end one, and 2Gb of Video memory is quite good too, and yes the card can do crossfire, no problem with that, for 1080p gaming, the GTX 760 is a niiiice choice

The PSU, anything with 600w should do just fine, with these specs you might want to go for 800w, also search for good quality ones (i have a really crappy one, it's fine, but if the quality is better your parts last longer) like Corsair ones for example

I hope this help, it is quite lengthy, but i didn't want to have a post full of links, hopefully you will find this useful, good luck and very nice build by the way :D

Remixex, thanks for your response. Gave me some confirmation in what Iv'e been looking at.

Mojo, Your link didn't work. Also, I think $1k would be ideal, but I just wanted to give myself some room for taxes and shipping and such.

No problem, and let me insist on you choosing an fx 8xxx over an i5, multithread gaming it is good and will only get better with time, upcoming games will need a lot of CPU power, the i5 has more IPC we all know that, but the cores of the fx will soon pay off

perosnally i don't think you need that much ram, and why go with the 8350? the i5 out performs it with it's hyperthreading. It's single core performance is so much better. If i were to rebuild my pc before i bought i would have switched out my 8320 for the 4670k in a heartbeat. Trust me 8g of ram, and if you need 16 in the future get it, and then grab the 4670k.

and also why are you buying a 250 dollar case? there's nothing really to a case with this kind of budget that you need to go and spend that much on it, you should drop the case to the corsair 300r and then grab a 770 maybe with the 16g of ram, and a 4670k and you might wanna go with seasonic on your powersupply, i just personally like them better than corsair. preference.

CPU: I've looked up a lot of stuff and I only see that the i5 out performs it in single core performance. Everything else shows that the 8350 is better for the money.

Case: I just figured I should get a good case for airflow.

PSU: All I knew is that it should be 80+. So i'll look into your seasonic.

I assume by 770 you are referring to the graphics card? Is there a brand you like?

Yep the case is not really that important, and if you need airflow...just have it all the time open and on a high place :D (lol my case is 30 dollars XD) hey and 16gb of RAM, yes, we all know is overkill, but 8x2 is a loooot better than 8x1, if you are going for 8 gigs of RAM you should get 4x2 for dual channel functionality...that being said, if i had the money to buy 16 gigs of RAM holy crap i wouldnt think it for one second and go buy them lol

go with asus for the graphics card but you don't know "airflow" for 230 dollars, i have a 70 dollar case and the airflow is great. also the single core performance is very import. I'd rather have a much better single core performance for my gaming side of my pc then 8 cores which really doesn't make that much of a difference. i have an 8 core processor, ive played with pcs that have an i5 4670k and an 4770k i7. the single thread performance really does make a difference, and when you buy your case don't spend more than 100 dollars and if you want just get the corasir 300 and add case fans. so much easier
