My friend wants me to buy him a new power supply for £40 maximum to replace his OEM PSU which is about as useful as a football when powering his components.
He wants a new PSU so he can use his Nvidia 9600gt graphics card.
His PC is a Zoostorm PC, which has an Intel Core 2 Duo (I believe..) An optical drive, case fan and a HDD.
I've heard mixed stories about the CX430w and their reliability.. some dying within 3 months. I put this down to idiots overloading them, but I don't want to spend his money and for it to fail (because it's then my fault) He was originally going to buy a Powercool 600w, I said it's a stupid idea and I'll find him a decent one.
So is the CX430w a good powersupply? Will it handle the above hardware? If not, then what can I buy that is £40 with P&P.. As the CX430w that I found is £33 from Amazon with free P&P.
Thankyou
