i5 4670 Undervolting?

I currently have a stock cooler. How many volts do you think I can undervolt? I get around 46 celcius idle! Is that not crazy?

Each chip is different and will requiring varying amounts. I am currently trying to undervolt my 4770k. So far it looks like -0.075 (or 1.175 max voltage) off of a stock voltage is as low as I can go while maintaining my turbo boost frequency of 3900 Mhz.

Your temps are fine as long as there not going over 70c if so then its time for a new cooler! *cough*Cooler Master TX3*cough*

Well, the problem is that I'm afraid my CPUs life expectancy is going to go down. And heat is getting in the way.

Get a TX3 with arctic silver paste you should be able to get the two on amazon for under 30$ and the temps with drop alot

Every little bit can help. My meager -0.075 lowered my max temperatures about 5-6C.

Sadly, my case it too tight for that. Which is why undervolting is my decision for now.

If my comp doesn't load bios after undervolting, do I need to clear CMOS? On my previous motherboard, I just had to hard reset once and it worked like it cleared the cmos

How would I change the voltage? Is it core voltage or input voltage?

Look at the arctic cooling alpine line on amazon http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Alpine-Pro-Rev-Cooler/dp/B002CIDIPW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1397094419&sr=8-9&keywords=arctic+cooling this link can take you there theres lots to look at but there not as good as the TX3 but they are better than the stock coolers and there low profile.

Yup, I was actually thinking of that paste! I guess I'll go with the new cooler. Now I just have to get rid of the old paste on my CPU -,-

Try rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball then some cotton swabs to finish the job
