Hiya. I've been wanting to upgrade my memory to 1866 from 1600. I have the A8-5500 APU installed on my computer at the moment. (I also have the A8-6500 in a box for now.) Anyways I'm thinking of ordering this memory for my computer: http://

Will it be compatible with the MSI-7778 Jasmine motherboard? I know the A8-5500 and 6500 support up to 1866 memory. APUs require fast memory for faster graphics performance, which is what I want. Let me know! Thanks!

Solution
Your in luck, yes defiantly

Supports DDR3 DIMMs
PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866)

Why not OC your 1600Mhz ram to 1866Mhz? That's what those 1866Mhz memory modules are, just OC'd 1600Mhz modules basically. So you could get more GB of ram then at the speed you want instead.

Thanks for the reply! Well I'm not sure about OC the RAM I already have. It's a refurbished computer with stock RAM in it. I thought it best to buy new RAM from a reliable company.

no wrong choice in that. When you go for 1866Mhz just make sure the CL is 9 and not 10, you'll get better performance from the ram that way.

The HP site for my computer has, like you mentioned, max support for the 1866/pc3-14400 memory. I cannot find that memory (pc3-14400/1866) anywhere. I can only find 1866/pc3-14900.

That a typo on HP's site? lol
