Hey guys, just got my computer a week ago. Having an fps problems on mutiple games.

Here are my specs :
Motherboard : Asus Z87 - Expert
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670k CPU @ 3.4GHz
RAM : 16 GB Kingstone HyperX 2x8gb
Graphics Card : Nvidia Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB
Power Supply : II 650w Cooler Master
CPU Cooler : Hyper 212x Cooler Master

Im getting a solid 120 fps on ultra BF3, solid 80-130 on High BF4 but I get 30 fps on Source games like Team Fortress 2 and L4D2 etc. Is my card faulty or something? Please help.

not faulty. many of those games are poorly optimized. also you are not getting 120fps on bf3 on ultra considering a gtx 780 won't do that on ultra (you must have somesettings not enabled or you are running at like 480p)

nothing is wrong with your computer, but maybe make sure v-sync is off in those games you are getting low fps

Make sure your drivers are up to date, and that your settings are appropriate, gtx 760 should give you 1920x1080 with most settings on high/ultra. Vsync can limit your framerate, but usually it is 60.

Highly recommend: Nvidia has a program called the geforce experience that will update your drivers in the program and optimize your games' settings for you.

1) Do NOT use Geforce Experience in general.
The settings are specifically chosen to average 40FPS and often that is not ideal as you may get almost the same quality at 60FPS for example.

If you actually do want 40FPS with VSYNC OFF that's the only time to use Geforce Experience.

2) Open your NVidia Control Panel-> Manage 3D Settings:
Then make sure your Global settings for VSync are normal. If you keep getting capped at 30FPS then experiment with VSync settings per game, such as VSYNC ON, VSYNC OFF, or Adaptive (but not "Half" adaptive).

3) Not sure why you'd be at 30FPS. I couldn't find a reason for that. In LFD2, the options are VSYNC ON (double or triple buffering) and VSync off, and there's no way a GTX760 would be that low.

4) I force Adaptive VSync for most games which makes them run at 60FPS (occasionally I drop below 60FPS in somes games but then VSYNC is turned off automatically by Adaptive VSync to avoid the stuttering)

My fps on tf2 is not capped. Apparently, I get 40 fps while im not fighting and 20 fps when I am in Tf2. V Sync din't help, any other solutions? Or if you could help me, using teamviewer that would be great.

That's very odd.

Get some software so you can monitor your current GPU frequency (or history) so you can determine if it's staying stuck at a low frequency.

A GTX760 should easily handle TF2 at much higher frame rates.
