I'm using HP 431 with HD3000 and AMD 7450M

Last night, I was using 3DS Max (running on AMD GPU) when suddenly my laptop go extremely slow (even the mouse is not smooth) I turn on/off CAPSLOCK to check whether it's frezze or not. And it finally frezze after 10 sec.

When i try to turn it on again, it showed a black screen with nothing. Then i plugged in the VGA cable and it work again, running on HD3000. Now, I cannot see/find my AMD GPU, it's not show in Device Manager or dxdiag or msinfo32

I re-installed AMD driver several times but it didnt help. I'm still running on HD3000.

Somebody tells me that my GPU is broken, but I just cleaned my laptop 2 weeks ago, renew the thermal paste (NT-H1). I use HWMonitor to check my laptop heat alot, it's always below 80C.

Can anyone help me, please ?

Solution
If it was a SOFTWARE issue, then try rolling back to the latest System Restore point if you have one (can Google for how).

You will lose any programs installed since that Restore Point, but not any files.

I recommend making a Restore Point BEFORE you roll back so you can get back to where you started if need be.

I think it probably is a hardware error though.

Hi,
I think what I'm seeing above is simply that it is showing the Intel HD Graphics.

I'm not sure why the AMD info is there.

You have what is called SWITCHABLE graphics so it runs on the AMD GPU only when told to such as starting certain games. Assuming it's a SOFTWARE issue, then it's related to this.

You can't install just any software, it needs to be the proper version for your laptop. You say you re-installed the AMD driver, but are you certain it's the correct version from your laptop site?

I'm actually unsure if it's a single piece of software, or whether it's just the Intel drivers + AMD drivers, or if it's both drivers and a third piece of software related to switchable graphics but this should be at your laptop support site.

Thank
I tried full uninstall AMD driver and at the end of the process, my laptop make a sound like unpluggin a device.
After that, I cannot find the AMD card anymore. I hope it's not a hardware problem. I did replace new thermal paste on that GPU 2 weeks ago, add an copper pad, i also have a fan directly blow to my laptop.

All my software solutions seem fail ....
