i built a new pc using new branded parts. However used my old HDD from my old computer. It is manufactured in 2005 based on the paper on top of hdd. It makes random fast grinding noises while I open an application such as google chrome or windows media player. I scanned my pc and there is nothing on it. I am using WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL with ALL LATEST DRIVERS AND UPDATES. Also, boot times range from about a minute to all the way to TWO MINUTES. THAT IS FROM THE OFFICIAL WINDOWS 7 LOGO START SCREEN. PC IS KIND OF SLOW TOO. Is my hard drive the problem?

SPECS:
PENTIUM G3220 3.0GHZ PROCESSOR
MSI H81 P33 MOTHERBOARD
4GB RAM 1600MHZ BUT RUNS AT 1333MHZ
CORSAIR CX 430M POWER SUPPLY

I want to upload this image I took. It is from HD TUNE. Please take a look at it and reply. Thank You. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE HARD DRIVE?

If its noisy then its gonna die soon. But from the trace it looks like it still works. And if it has W7 on it then it does. If it was me I'd be buying a new HDD - say a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. Less Noise and more speed. The I'd try to transfer what I wanted from the old HDD to the new one. The just use the new one. 9 years old deserves putting out to pasture (or in the bin).
