Hello everyone.

I want to build another pc to play bf4 with some of my friends.

I have an old pc:
CPU: Phenom 965 black
MB: GA-890GPA-UD3H
RAM: 12gb.
PSU: Casen ATX-CS-350 600w (+12V1 = 20A; +12V2 = 18A, +5V = 28A, -12V = 0.8A, +3.3V = 17A, +5VSB = 2A)
OR: Aigo BTX-500P4 500w (+12V1 = 12A, +12V2 = 14A, +5V = 15A, -12V = 0.3A, +3.3V = 21A, +5VSB = 2.5A)

I use the pc like a server and now I want to throw a gpu inside it and play bf4.

In the Internet I have read that those three cards are about the same performance, but there are some moments which don't let me decide which one to buy.

1. R9 270x supports AMD Mantle and it seems to be very useful in bf4, but Mantle is in beta stage and those youtube videos shows significant fps drops during gameplay.
2. GTX 760 is a little better than GTX 660ti, but it requires more power, I am not sure that my PSU will be able to hold it.
3. What about Phenom 965, is it enough to play bf4 at 1920x1080 on high (if not ultra) settings?

And the same questions about gpu for and old i3-2100 pc with a decent PSU.
Your personal opinion for these three gpus would be very appreciated.

The prices in my place:
GTX 660ti ~ 215$
GTX 760 ~ 265$
R9 270X ~ 235$

I wouldn't trust either of those PSUs - get something new and good. If those 3 GPUs are the only choice, get the 760. You'll need a GOOD 500W PSU.

I am ready to go for any other gpu in the same price range, I need another bf4 pc for minimum price.

I know that it is not a famous brand, but still, what about this PSU:
Segotep GP600G 500W 80 Gold

Other brands seem to be far more expensive.

I'd go with the GTX760. I can run that on a 450-watt PSU so you should be fine.

Here's my recommended card: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn760...

If you need a CPU recommendation, I'd choose this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd6200frgubox
It's a six core processor that runs at 3.8GHz for $125 (price is subject to change)
It's an AM3 or AM3+, so it should be compatible with your motherboard.

Thank you.

What is your PSU model?

What are the reasons of choosing 760 over 270x?
I like 760 too, but 270x seems to work perfect with low-end cpus.

I am not going to replace cpu for now.

I would go with 270x as my friend is using it .. it is less power hungry and will work well on your existing PSUS i:e PSU: Casen ATX-CS-350 600w (+12V1 = 20A; +12V2 = 18A, +5V = 28A, -12V = 0.8A, +3.3V = 17A, +5VSB = 2A)

as per the spes your processor is good enough to support 1080p.. plus mental is the future i would surely recommend you 270X
cheers!!

If you're aiming for best play on bf4, maybe go the 270X: http://www.techspot.com/review/734-battlefield-4-benchm...

For a PSU try Corsair, Seasonic, XFX

Yes, this pc will be used for bf4 only, that is why I doubt.
I have another pretty good pc for all other games.

Watching youtube videos I noticed some significant fps drops, it is okay for single player, but not for multi player.

Cool, as a real r9 270x user, can you tell me whether mantle worth it?
What about fps drops in multi player?

Everything drops fps in multi-player. More CPU usage is needed for more action.

You probably didn't understand me.
When playing with DirectX fps may vary depends on situation, but never drops to 10-15 fps.
When playing with Mantle average fps is higher, but sometimes drops to 10-15 fps.
This is what I am worrying about.
