Hi guys,
I'm quite new to OC'ing so I've been playing around in the bios with the multiplier I can get the Multiplier at 4.3Ghz But anything after that is unstable, I'm guessing this is due to the Voltage not being enough? Also CPU-Z still shows the Idle clocks? even with steedstep off!? I'm hoping to get my cpu to 4.5Ghz with my Noctura nhd14 cooler. Problem is, when I go change the Voltage from auto to 'fixed' It only allows me to change it to offset? Power saver is disabled as well.

If anyone can help I'm greatly appreciative!

P.S if this is the wrong section my apologies.

Solution
if you are getting bsod then you can check this list of bsod codes for overclocking

Hi, no i'm not but my voltage is a bit high! it's at 1.21-1.25 for only a 4.2Mhz OC?
The only setting I can change is the multiplier since I don't know how to use offsets, although i saw a video of him explaining it but he changed the 'load' as well, which in my bios was different.. his went up from 1-10 'presets' and mine went up in % starting at 0%- ending at 100%

i tried the guys video too without changing the
load' and I crashed and in windows 8 there's no BSOD its just a 'repair' screen so theres no way of telling! I guess its just that my voltage is too high?
