upgrading my pc...compatibility?

i have a gateway dx4850-27eu i5 2300 2.8ghz, 1.5tb, 8gb ram, 300w. This is my plan, please let me know if this is going to work before i purchase it.

It will work , you shudnt get any bottlenecks i believe , or even if they are they shudnt be massive.
Also i believe that Motherboard has a PCIe 3.0 16x slot.

It has a pci-e 2.0 i think not a pci=e 3.0. But yes that will still work.

Yes it will still work it shudnt be a problem at all , backwards-compatibility works with PCIe generations.
Graphic cards in general are not even able to saturate the 8X speed of a PCIe slot in general terms ! (LinusTechTips)
So yeah the OP should be pretty much able to make it work with the rest of his build.
