I am running the noctua U14s cpu cooler on my 4770k. Now I'll admit my room is not the coolest, but when it is cool I tend to see lower 30's and cant get anywhere into the 20's which is frustrating. I even added a push pull on my cooler and temps are still the same.

I tried both the spread method paste and pea sized, results were the same. However when I re applied paste to pea shape, on 100% load I sit at high 60's. Before I would almost hit 90C.

Any thoughts on why I can't get temps lower?

With aircooling those temps of 30 - 70 degree isnt that bad :) I have a dual radiator water cooling on my cpu and only see 25 degree when idle and 58 degree when at load

Dude ... that temp is quite ok .. it`s not overheating , affecting your CPU`s performance in anyway ... are you that crazy that you can`t sleep if you don`t know your CPU is below 30 ? And 60+ in full load is again quite ok , to go under 60 you need to go with water cooling.

You also have to take into account the ambient temps of those guys who were reporting mid-20's. Your ambient temps most probably are higher than theirs. People seem to forget this, it's one of the biggest factors in your CPU temps.

Mine with a Thermalright True Spirit 90 M Rev.A and one fan runs at 28-30 idle and 60-68 on load.
I do have a 200mm front and a 200mm top fan and a rear 120mm fan that sits just in line with the back of the CPU rad, so kinda acts like a push pull.
