Hi there,

This is very much a luxury problem but I'm getting like 200-280 fps when playing CS GO(Most of the settings are on high because I like the look of it - it goes like 260-320 on low), and I recon that I should really be getting more. I get min. 100 fps in BF4 with everything on the highest setting.

System specs:
I7-4930k
Gigabyte 780TI GHz Edition
16 GB RAM
ASUS ROG Mobo
256 SSD(which CS:GO is installed upon)

I have a friend with specs no where near as good a mine but he get's like 500 fps.

Is it just because of the games lack of ability to utilize the CPU or what do you think?

Why would you care? It's still over 144 fps and will not look choppy on any modern monitor.

As I said - it's not really a problem but it still makes me wonder - I'm simply looking for en explanation :)

I found out that this problem was caused by windows power saving options. I had reinstalled my OS recently and my system was set to a balanced profile was meant that it lowered my CPU ratio whenever possible.

Just switching to the high performance profile will fix this.

I should mention that in Source Engine-based games, it seems the FPS from the built-in benchmark are not the exact FPS, because there is another "0" or whatever at the end of the exact FPS. Example: 100 FPS = 1000 FPS in console. (Based on my CS:GO built-in benchmark, when the map is loading I got 140 - 150 FPS but I fell the things are slow, then I realized that something is wrong)
