I was using my PS3 yesterday with the wired connection (Powerline adaptors) and used my wireless signal for a little while. I've put my ethernet cable back into the pc but using task manager, I can see that it is running off of wireless network connection 3. I have been into my control panel (W7) and have set LAN to be the priority. I have gone into my router settings (BT Homehub) and seen that it is not using the wireless, so does anybody know if there is a way to manualy make sure it is working? There isn't a simple option to just select it! Many Thanks.

Use the route command and issue route print. It may not update the metrics on the fly when you do in setting for the adapter. You can change the metrics with the route command....it is simpler to just delete the 0.0.0.0 route for the one you do not want it to use though.
