Okay here's my problem, i have my desktop connected to the internet with a Ethernet cable which works great, but I live with my parents and my parents have a timer on the internet so it shuts off a certain time at night, and it works great right up until it turns off. The problem arises in the morning when the internet turns on again, it appears on my desktop that i have no internet connection even though i do, (i check on my phone), its like the cable isnt even being recognized. Can somebody help?

Dunno what sort of set-up you've got exactly - PC/Components, router, other deives on the network - ethernet and wifi.

How do you fix it? I would go to Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Centre. If my network wasn't on there, I'd go to Connect to a Network

I am assuming you are running windows but please correct me If I am wrong. In your task tray in the bottom right there should be a network icon (like a little PC screen with a plug). Does it say that you are connected to a network with no internet access, or not connected to a network at all? Please try unplugging the network cable on your computer and plugging it back in to see if it works.
