Hi.
I want to know if, and how much I would be able to overclock this CPU..
I'm asking this because my motherboard chipset is only 970, but can I still get a little extra performance? like overclocking to 4,1?
My system:
Cpu: Amd fx 6350
Gpu: Gtx 760 hawk (not needed though)
Ram: 8GB 1333
Motherboard: Asrock extreme4 970
PSU 750 W bronze
CPU cooler: Coolermaster seidon 120

I had the same motherboard and it overclocked my FX-6300 to 4.4 just fine. I'd be a bit more worried if you were using an FX-8xxx but the 970 chipset is just fine for the FX-6xxx

Also, make sure your PSU can handle it, a generic 750W will not be nearly as good as a quality 500W.

In short: You should not have any issues if you OC by 10%. Another approach: Look at other things such as the RAM - is your RAM 1 or 2 blocks? 2x4GB is much better than 1x8GB. And: Your PSU is way over spec. - meaning you could change the M/B and more and faster RAM, and add a second GPU.

Yeah my ram is 4x2.
And I dont really want to upgrade my computer atm. I'd rather wait a little and then build a new one

Oh sorry, I meant OverDrive. It's built into Catalyst Control Center and should give you an idea of what frequencies and voltages to use. You can disable it once you've found out that information and overclock yourself.

Under CCC there is an option for CPU OverDrive. Enable it and let the test run. It will then show you the settings it has used to overclock your CPU for you, and you can either keep using OD (I don't recommend using software overclocks) or you can disable it and enter those settings into the BIOS so that you can take the overclocking from there.
