GTX 780 Lightning and i5 4670k minecraft problem

My problem is sometimes when i play minecraft my fps drops to like 0-15, then i hav to exit minecraft for it to work again. When i dont have problems i have about 400-1000 fps. PLZ help. its VERY annoying

i have overclocked my cpu and i dont think i had problems before that.

Run the CPU at stock speeds. It could be overheating and throttling itself. What are your LOAD temps for the CPU?

It is not overheating then.

Minecraft is weird. You should MAKE SURE you have 64-bit java installed. The only way to 100% get 64-bit java is to go to JAVA's website and download JAVA using Internet Explorer 64-bit.

If that doesn't work, you can try using Optifine. It is a video mod for Minecraft. It doesn't change the game at all but it gives you heaps of controls for video settings and stability. I use it and it is great. It smooths out FPS and keeps me locked at 60fps (V-sync) no matter what.
