Hey guys,

I've currently got a gaming computer running a Radeon 6950 Hd series, and I want to get myself a nicer monitor. I've got an Asus v229 I believe. I want something that is really great quality without breaking the bank. Maybe a 22-30" screen, and I don't need speakers, I've got a pair.

Toss at me what you think would be good.

what's your budget?

FHD is nice,

Ultra Wide (29") is nice, but costs $380+

QHD is great but has a $400+ cost

UHD is insane but going to cost you thousands

So basically I want to stay less that 300-400. I'll be gaming and watching movies, so a good size screen for that but best quality.

You won't find better then this for your use;

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

AOC q2963Pm Black 29"

You may be thinking AOC, that sounds like a cheap and terrible brand but they have actually proven themselves for making reasonably priced monitors with high quality components.

This monitor is different to other 16:9 ration monitors, this is 21:9 and that means ultra wide.

It has a resolution of 2560x1080 on a massive 29" screen!

This is a good screen size, great quality and a great viewing experience.

The only this is that the reviews have a consistent number of failures in the screens.

depends, not every owner is satisfied and the people who get a dodge screen are the most likely people to write a review. The failure rate is not high, and around 90+% of people who bought the screen, haven't been bothered to write a review, some people who are really happy with it and have had it for a long time have written a review, if it does turn out to be faulty, it is easily replaceable but it is a really good monitor.
