Mouse keeps freezing but unfreezes seconds later

I got the computer about 3 months ago now and only a couple of weeks ago the mouse i am using just freezes completely. I move my mouse around for a couple seconds and it unfreezes but it is on the other side of my computer screen. Although sometimes this doesnt work and the mouse just wont budge so i have to switch usb ports and the cycle starts again. Anyone else had this problem and fixed it because ive tried solutions to similar problems but none have worked

Wireless?
Dead battery if Wireless.

Clean the bottom where the laser is as well. And use a decent mouse pad.

It is a wired mouse so its not a dead battery and if it was a bad mouse pad or dirty mouse, wouldnt changing the usb port do nothing to fix the problem because it does(temporarily)

The mouse could be going bad. Does it happen with a different mouse?

Cable loose or bad connection. I get this sometimes with my old mouse.

If it's not the mouse, it could be an AV scanning the USB ports. The other possibility is the disk is failing and windows is freezing temporarily when it stops responding.

Trying a different mouse will rule out the mouse and USB ports.
