As the title says, i'm going/thinking of changing my CPU on my motherboard and I'm concerned about it having any after effects on my system. I will be changing my AMD 64 X2 4000+ for a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+. If there are better CPU's for the same price range i would appreciate any tips that are compatible on my M2N-e SLI motherboard. i will also be putting in extra RAM and getting a MSI GeForce GTX 650 2GB and was wondering if it would work if i used it along side my current GPU which is a GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB. To my knowledge it should work but I'm a novice in such things so would appreciate confirmation if it does (or not)
Thanks in advance

There might be issues with drivers. I'd suggest backing up your data with an external driven the doing a fresh install of Windows.

I know a cpu change won't change anything but I'm not sure about the RAM... Now it won't damage anything if you boot up with new hardware it just might not work right.

IMO do a fresh install as I stated above. :^)

As long as your motherboard and PSU will support the new CPU, RAM and GPU you're fine.

Uninstall the GPU drivers completely first. Then swap out the CPU, RAM and GPU. The CPU driver is usually detected fine by Windows XP or later. The GPU will need to be installed cleanly.

Would i still need to uninstall the GPU even if im going to use both GPU together?
