xeon e5 2687w v2 or e5 2690 v2?

Solution
none. I recommend not getting xeon cpu's. Unless your doing some real serious editing and rendering. (More than what tv stations do.) I recommend getting I7-4960X if you got the cash it will be able to handle gaming & video editing. Get a real good motherboard too. Like a Asus rampage Extreme. You probably will need 16gb ram (1866 speed) or so. Depending on your budget. Other good cpu's I7-3820, 3930, 3960, 3970, 4820, and 4930.

Not much value in spending that much on a CPU unless you are using it to generate an income where time is a factor.

For primarily gaming and only some video editing, it is hard to recommend anything over an i7-4770k and if you insist on LGA2011 then the i7-4920k , i74930k highest at ~$600, anything beyond that is enormous diminishing returns on your investment. Unless you know the software you will be using will use up to 20 threads.
