Hi everybody.

I recently got a new case so I de-assembled my PC and rebuilt it on the new case. I was able to successfully turn it on to test it but it was not connected to my monitor so I switched it off using the button on the power supply and didn't turn on the computer to remove the electricity .

So I took it to my monitor and set it up. Everything turns on, all fans are running including the graphics card's fans but I get no display.

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 6300
Motherboard: MSI 990FXA-GD65 (no integrated graphics)
RAM: Corsair XMS3 1x4GB
GPU: HD 7790
PSU: Corsair VS550

Things I tried:

Rebuild- no result
Connect to TV- no result
Use old case- no result
Try different PCI-E slot- no result

Recently built a new PC, and everything looked great - until I turn on the power: nothing. I just forgot that the PSU had its own 'On' switch. Is there a 'power' or 'sleep' switch you have forgotten, perhaps on the monitor?

Can you try 'your' GPU in another computer to test it? Can you try your monitor with another computer? If your GPU and monitor work independent of your rebuilt computer, I suggest that your M/B might be the problem - maybe damaged in the rebuild. Did you ground yourself while working with the components?

Tested it out using a friend's computer and it still didn't work. So I took it to a local computer store and he told me it was my motherboard.
Sent it in and got a new one, everything is fine now. Thanks all!
