So, after having some questions answered by this lovely community, I decided to get a 750 ti. The only problem is that no one really answered this question:

How do I disable the integrated graphics? I've got an E5700 with a g41 integrated chipset - do I just disable it from the hardware tab in my computer's properties?

It should be disabled automatically in the bios if you've plugged in the new GPU. If not, you can manually turn it off in the bios.

You don't have to do anything. Just install your graphics card, plug the monitor cable to it, and then power up. It'll switch automatically to dedicated graphics.
