Convert dynamic volume to basic

I have 1TB sized HDD in my laptop. When I tried converting the disk type from dynamic to basic, it produces an error stating it's not possible due to all the boot data being present on the drive I want to change. What is the solution to the problem?

Use disk manager to remove the volume, then recreate it as basic. Make sure you have a good (tested) backup as this is fatal to all data on the volume.

Boot the installation DVD and remove the volume there.

Depending on the configuration, the solution may be as simple as editing the partition ID bytes in sector 0.

Can you show us the contents of sector 0? You could use a disc editor, eg DMDE (freeware).
