I will be building a system in a few weeks and I'm torn between this (I already have an ssd and a case):
CPU Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core $179.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing Combo or $30.98
Motherboard Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 $169.99
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Combo or $74.99
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $59.99
Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB $499.99
Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V $69.99
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $19.99
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) $102.98
Total: $1193.89

and this:
CPU AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core $149.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing Combo or $30.98
Motherboard Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ $174.99
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Combo or $74.99
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $59.99
Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB $499.99
Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V $69.99
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $19.99
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) $102.98
Total: $1168.89

I've been looking at benchmarks and reviews but I'm still not sure which one to get.
thanks for the replies in advance

Solution
I like both builds but given the choice I'd go for the Intel build, 4670k has better single core performance for other things aside gaming.

Thanks for the reply! I'll go for the Intel one then!
