To be honest, it is a waste of money. Keep in mind, new board means new windows copy as well, most of the time. You should just go with a 1230 v2.

If mainly for gaming the 4670k is the best choice.

are you keeping your motherboard? if so, a 4th gen chip wont directly replace a 3rd gen chip.

ok, a b75 wont overclock, so no need in getting a "K" chip.
a i5-3470 or 3570 would be a good bet. or if you live near a micro center, a xeon E3-1230V2 for $199, which is probably your best bet.

The 1230v2 is nothing more than an i7 without IGP and added ECC ram support. They work with regular desktop motherboards and ram and perform the same as an i7.
